21-10-19 - Preview - Kidderminster Harriers Vs Farsley Celtic

Could be a first sighting of Diau for many Harriers fans

After three weeks without a game the Harriers re-convene the season with a home game against Farsley Celtic  tomorrow evening. Our last game was away to Spennymoor Town on the 28th of September and that ended in a 2-1 defeat to drop us down to fourteenth place in the table but now, with our lack of games, we find ourselves down to seventeenth without actually kicking a ball. A win tomorrow will put us back up to fourteenth.

During our hiatus very little had happened regarding news coming from the club until the Friday just gone when the news of the takeover was finally made public along with the rumours of a new player coming in. That was believed to be Ashley Hemmings from AFC Fylde and so that transpired when the news was made public yesterday. It did seem strange to be announcing a new player on a Sunday but at least it’s better than announcing it forty five minutes before kick off as happened with the arrival of Brandon Diau before the Spennymoor game.

There are supposedly going to be more new faces arriving at Aggborough but at this moment in time we have no information regarding who that could be.

During our absence Farsley Celtic have been climbing the table with five league wins in a row with the most recent away at Alfreton Town on Saturday. That win was an impressive 2 – 4 scoreline for the men from West Leeds after they came from a goal down to go into the break with a 1 – 3 lead. That lead was shortened not long into the second half when Alfreton pulled a goal back but the game was finally put to bed by Dave Syers in the seventieth minute.

Without a game in ages then we’ll probably be a little unfit matchwise but at least we should have no injuries and could see Cameron Gregory, Ed Williams and Richard Peniket back from their respective injuries while Milan Butterfield, Knory Scott and Rhys Williams will now be back from international duty and at least two of those will play a part in the game.

There will also be a first sighting of Brandon Diau for the majority of the fans and the question is who will be making way for Diau and also for Hemmings who should almost certainly be starting at someones expense.

In the past month many fans have begun to drift away and may never come back. A good win at the start of this ‘New Dawn’ could go a long way to quickly winning them back over.
