Venue: The Hive Stadium Date: 20-04-24 Barnet FC 4 Harriers 1 Att: 1896 (away fans: 281) The season ends with defeat. Now it’s time for a reset Report: Harry211 Kidderminster Harriers ended their brief return to the Conference with a whimper rather than a bang as promotion contenders Barnet produced a competent performance to see off the away side with ease. Two goals in both halves meant Phil Brown’s side only had a Charlie Weston goal for consolation as the Harriers failed to turn bright moments into anything more tangible. Weston’s first senior goal will provide a rare moment of magic for the Blackburn Rovers loanee, while Noah Rubio and Josh Bishop made their league bows for the Harriers. Otherwise
Date: 13-04-24 Match preview Vs Eastleigh FC Venue: Aggborough Kick off: 15:00hrs Preview:Phil Lench With just two more games left until the end of the season, and also two games left to guarantee our survival at this level, it’s going to need a bit more effort and commitment from the Harriers players if they have any desire to play in the National League next season. Last week at home to FC Halifax Town that desire and commitment was totally absent as we capitulated into yet another disappointing home game to lose 2-0 and without a single shot on target. Another good crowd had turned out hoping to see three more points on our road to safety but they left in
Venue: Aggborough Date: 06-04-24 Harriers 0 FC Halifax Town 2 Att: 3173 (away fans: 159) What is it with the Harriers and home games? Report: Phil Lench What is with the Harriers and home games? There we go, that’s the question that Phil Brown and his players have to ask themselves after yet another diabolical performance following a brilliant win away from home a few days earlier. And that win came at champions Chesterfield FC too but at home we we can’t even string two passes together let alone a shot on target during the entire ninety minutes. This was supposed to be a must win game that we hoped would get us out of the bottom four for the
Venue: SMH Group Stadium Date: 01-04-24 Chesterfield FC 1 Harriers 3 Att: 8337 (away fans: 384) Harriers make April Fools of Champions Chesterfield Report: Phil Lench The Harriers gained something of a reprieve from relegation today when they put paid to Chesterfield FC’s unbeaten home record. An early goal from Ashley Hemmings set us on our way with the travelling fans in wonderland at the possibility of actually getting a win away from home at the league champions. When Matt Preston put through his own net midway through the half it looked like maybe the win wasn’t on the cards but in the second half that all changed again when further goals from Zak Brown and then, amazingly, Matty redeeming
Venue: Aggborough Date: 29-03-24 Harriers 1 Altrincham 3 Att: 3688 (away fans: 272) Harriers look to be down and out Report: Phil Lench A lesson in finishing from Altrincham looks to have consigned the Harriers to a return to the death pit of the National North for next season. With us still firmly ensconced in 22nd place in the table we need to win at least three of our remaining four games and hope that all those above us, some with many games in hand, undergo a total collapse and lose all of their games. You have to go up to 17th place to find another club that have played the same amount of games as us (42 and 43
Venue: Grosvenor Vale Date: 23-03-24 Wealdstone FC 1 Harriers 1 Att: 2102 (away fans: 389) Harriers still searching for that season saving win Report: Harry211 It was a case of another crunch game, another draw, for Kidderminster Harriers as they couldn’t beat fellow strugglers Wealdstone in North West London on Saturday. A torrid first half saw Phil Brown’s men lucky to go into the break just a goal down but Ashley Hemmings’ equaliser seven minutes from time was enough to restore parity – but leave Harriers still without a win in five games. The fourth draw in a row leaves them needing three wins from their remaining five games, with games against high fliers Barnet, Altrincham and FC Halifax Town
Venue: Hayes Lane Date: 16-03-24 Bromley FC 0 Harriers 0 Att: 2628 (away fans: 130) Harriers play out an uneventful goalless draw at Hayes Lane Report: Harry211 Two of the league’s best defences played out an uneventful goalless draw at Hayes Lane as Kidderminster Harriers picked up a point on the road in their bid to avoid relegation. It means the Harriers are now without a win in four and have only scored two goals in that run. A draw against a high flying Bromley FC would normally be welcomed – but it means safety is still two points away ahead of a trip to fellow strugglers Wealdstone FC in the ever-tightening battle to beat the drop. Venue: Aggborough Date: 12-03-24 Harriers 1 AFC Fylde 1 Att: 2151 (away fans: 21) No where near good enough so don’t blame the ref Report: Phil Lench The Harriers managed to rescue a point against AFC Fylde this evening following a first half as dire as any we’ve seen at Aggborough this season. It wasn’t helped by the poor standard of officiating but the officials are not the ones out there playing for their lives to escape relegation. We didn’t seem to learn from the game at home to York City on Saturday that we need to play with more quality and try to pass the ball around rather than chase a ball booted up the field. On a mild
