Match previews 2020-21
Match preview Vs Guiseley AFCVenue: Nethermoor ParkDate: 16-02-21Kick off: 19:45hrs Here we go again. What could be another pointless preview of a game that may or may not actually take place. Guiseley stated recently that they wouldn’t be playing anymore games until the null & void situation is sorted out. A few weeks ago they told AFC Fylde that they were not prepared to play their game then last Saturday they say they were prepared to play at home to Boston Utd but then called it off the previous day due to a frozen pitch. OK it was bad last Saturday with many games called off due to the conditions but it does seem that they have now changed their
Match preview Vs Darlington FCVenue: AggboroughDate: 13-02-21Kick off: 15:00hrs Hopefully tomorrow we might be playing a game of football at Aggborough because it’s now five weeks since we last played a game at home and exactly a month since we played at all. Tomorrow Darlington might be coming but we’re not even sure of that yet. At the start of all these problems Darlo were saying that they wouldn’t be playing again until it was all sorted out, but now, following the threats of legal action by the National League they seem to have changed their stance slightly and appear to be leaving it up to the opposition. This opposition, KHFC, seem to be sitting on the fence though and
Match preview Vs Boston UtdVenue: Jakemans Community StadiumDate: 09-02-21Kick off: 19:45hrs The Harriers will be paying their first visit to Boston Utds new ground tomorrow evening but, as is the norm now, there will not be any fans there to tick the Jakemans Community Stadium off their updated 92 list. The smart looking ground is situated to the South of Boston but at the moment is in an unfinished state with two stands built so far and a covered standing area behind one of the goals. This will be our first game back from the ‘Winter break’ but Boston have played in the FA Trophy losing against Chesterfield on penalties. Ironically Chesterfield have now withdrawn from the competition after being
Match preview Vs Gloucester CityVenue: New Meadow ParkDate: 09-01-21Kick off: 15:00hrs The Harriers face a really tough task tomorrow when table toppers Gloucester City are our opponents. With the Reds travelling down to their brand new stadium at the New Meadow Park it’s a game that many of our fans would have liked to be going to as well. The Tigers have been at the top of the table since almost day one, day two then. Having played sixteen games (thirty one points) to our fourteen games (twenty five points) they are catchable and with our away record being better than at Aggborough then we could put ourselves three points closer to them. On Tuesday evening we almost came close
Match preview Vs York CityVenue: AggboroughDate: 04-01-21Kick off: 19:45hrs The Harriers will be hoping that tomorrow evenings game at home to promotion hopefuls York City will be able to go ahead. The forecast for the day is mainly below freezing so one has to hope that the covers are already on. This game was originally supposed to have been played back in mid November but City had a case of COVID-19 in the camp so the game was, naturally, called off. With the virus still going strong this is yet another game that the fans will have to view on their TV’s. On Saturday their game at home to Bradford (PA) was called off due to a frozen pitch
Match preview Vs Hereford FCVenue: AggboroughDate: 02-01-21Kick off: 15:00hrs Harriers fans hopes have been dashed once again in these local derbies with Hereford FC. It was hoped that, like their Hereford counterparts at Edgar St on Boxing Day, our fans would be coming to Aggborough to see the game but with the, expected, news that the Wyre Forest is now under COVID Tier 3 that faint hope has been abandoned. Seeing our team play had already been partly dashed after our game against AFC Telford Utd, earlier in the week, had fallen victim of the sudden overnight snow. We can only hope now that tomorrow’s game will be on with more snow forecast and sub-zero temperatures to boot possibly making
Match preview Vs AFC Telford UtdVenue: AggboroughDate: 28-12-20Kick off: 15:00hrs GAME OFF. Aggy is snowed in The Harriers are soon back in action tomorrow when AFC Telford Utd arrive at Aggborough for the second instalment of our festive season entertainment. It will be all the better too for the inclusion of that rarity nowadays: a crowd. Hopefully the returning fans (all 1250 of them) will be able to see something a little better than has been witnessed in recent weeks. A home defeat to Kettering Town and two away defeats to Stamford AFC and, yesterday, at Hereford FC have been leavened only by a brilliant win at Gateshead between the first two. Yesterday at Edgar St is one we’ll want
Match preview Vs Hereford FCVenue: Edgar StDate: 26-12-20Kick off: 15:00hrs The Harriers begin their festive campaign with an away trip to Hereford FC on Boxing Day. In turn Hereford will be coming to Aggborough on the day following New Years Day, the 2nd. With this ever changing situation there won’t be any Harriers fans allowed to travel to Edgar St and likewise for the return game. Hereford was in Tier 1 a week ago but that has now been raised to Tier 2 although that won’t make any difference to the game being played. It will still be home fans only. At the moment Hereford sit down in a lowly-ish sixteenth place in the league rankings but they have only
