20-04-18 - Preview - North Ferriby Utd Vs Harriers

This weekend the Harriers could be playing their first, and last, game at North Ferriby’s Grange Lane stadium. With the ‘Villagers’ now relegated for the second consecutive season there looks to be a bleak future for them with their owner possibly pulling out after failing in his dream to relocate the club to another village near Hull.

In a vote held on Monday the Ferriby fans overwhelmingly turned down the chance to move ten miles away to stay where they are and survive.

It’s very unlikely that the club will gain promotion back here any time soon and the more likely outcome is that they will fold.

This is also the Harriers final away game before the play-offs take place and it’s one that we still need to win. Since their relegation was confirmed some time ago Ferriby have actually improved their results and could now prove to be a tougher test that we originally expected to face. They did have a slight blip on Tuesday though when they lost at home to another relegation candidate in Gainsborough Trinity.

They should have a full squad to face us apart from Brett Agnew who isn’t likely to be seen again until next season.

We just have the two doubts now with Dan Bradley (hamstring) and James Pearson (knee) still out. Hopefully either, or both, of them will come through a late check over before the game to give us the strongest line-up possible. We did have one injured player back from injury against Spennymoor Town in midweek after Joel Taylor appeared on the bench for the first time in a month.

With our play-off place now confirmed we still need to finish as high as possible with fourth place looking the best we’ll get. So we need all the points we can get including the three on offer on Humberside.
