13-08-18 - News - Chester game off due to water damage

The Harriers scheduled league game at Chester tomorrow evening, the 14th, has been called off due to water damage to the police security control centre at the Deva Stadium.

During a storm last night water came in through the roof of the building leading to the internal suspended ceiling collapsing and water getting into the carpets and on to the furniture.

Due to league regulations if a club has a security control centre then it must be used in the control of crowds but that cannot obviously happen now so the game will not go ahead.

The Harriers were hoping to cash in on the problems within the club following their shocking 8-1 defeat at Blyth Spartans on Saturday. Now with a further week to recover from that Chester will have more time to regroup and get it out of their system.

The game has already been re-arranged for next Tuesday evening, the 21st August.
