09-10-20 - Preview - Darlington FC Vs Kidderminster Harriers

Following the first game, and the first disappointment, of the new season we now travel the short distance to our TV to see the Harriers take on Darlington. Last Tuesday evening at Aggborough Stadium – or was it the Samsung Stadium – we lost our first game of the season to Chester FC and also saw Amari Morgan-Smith sent off for a reason that has still not been made clear.

Our single goal came from Ashley Hemmings soon after Danny Elliott had opened the scoring for the visitors. Then came the sending off that also saw yellow cards for the Chester management and Jimmy O’Connor for a fracas on the touchline. After the break the former Harrier Declan Weeks scored the winning goal for his new club but we did improve and could have forced a draw by the end of ninety minutes.

So now it’s off to Darlington to attempt the win and we will have Morgan-Smith playing for us due to his two match ban not starting until we play his former club, Alfreton Town the following Saturday.

Luke Maxwell, Jim Kellermann and Cliff Moyo will all, most likely, miss the game due to injury while Darlington, who lost at AFC Fylde on Tuesday evening have bought in two players today to compensate for the loss of strikers Adam Campbell and Dan Maguire with injuries.

Their manager, Alun Armstrong, has signed the  former Chesterfield striker Levi Amantchi and the ex-Leeds midfielder Theo Hudson and they will both be in the squad for tomorrow. They will also be without midfielder David Atkinson and striker Jamie Holmes because of long term injuries.

As always this game will be tough and if you want to watch it then stream it from here for £7.99
