Date: 09-01-24 Harriers progress on penalties in the WSC |
The Harriers went through to the semi-final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup at Droitwich Spa FC this evening. With the score at ninety minutes on 2-2 the game went to penalties with the Harriers coming out victorious 4-3 in the shootout.
We lined up with four regular first teamers: Zak Brown, Kai Lissimore, Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain and somewhat surprisingly Matt Preston who you would have thought was overdue a rest.
The Harriers opened the scoring in the twenty seventh minute through Kobe Hall but a few minutes later the hosts drew level through a Connor Collins penalty. That’s how the score remained for the half but then in the second period Zak Brown struck to regain the lead for us only for Collins to draw his side level once more two minutes later in the fifty seventh minute.
That’s how the normal time ended and the game went to penalties with the Harriers going through.
