07-10-22. Match preview Vs Farsley Celtic AFC

Preview: Phil Lench

The Harriers will be looking for all three points at home to perennial strugglers Farsley Celtic tomorrow to send us, hopefully, into one of the top two places in the table this weekend. Bear in mind though that those perennial strugglers beat the Harriers last season in a controversial game at their Citadel ground so we know that they can also be no walkover.

Down in third from the bottom of the table they have yet to win at home this season and have only won the one game away from home at Brackley Town in mid-August. On paper we should be favourites to win this game tomorrow but we all know how confidence turns round and bites you on the bum.

Following our FA Cup win at Cheshunt FC last week we appear to have had no new injuries added to our rather extensive list. Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Joe Foulkes, Tom Owen-Evans and Jack Bearne are all out long term while Nathan Lowe and Jack Tolley should be fit again soon.

Meanwhile Amari Morgan-Smith got some more minutes in last week so he should be expected to play a bigger part tomorrow. We might even get to see our new signing Scott Burgess who came in on loan from York City last week.

For Farsley their injury list is nowhere near to the extent of ours and they’ll just be without defender Lewis Butroid although he has returned to training in the last week or so.

In a bid to get his side up the table the Farsley manager, Russ Wilcox, has added Isaac Assenso, Carlton Ubaezuono and Chinedu Osadebe to the squad. The three players have recently seen service with Scarborough Athletic, Athlone Town and Banbury Utd (in that order) recently. Of the three Assenso has the better pedigree having started his career with Leeds Utd before leaving to join Scunthorpe Utd in 2015.

Will these new players be enough to get Farsley the points tomorrow? Hopefully not but you never know with our luck.
