07-02-20 - Preview - Kidderminster Harriers Vs Darlington FC

Alex Prosser
Alex Prosser –
Scored the opening
goal at Kings Lynn

The Harriers arrive back at Aggborough tomorrow following two long away trips in the past two weeks that resulted in mixed fortunes. Thankfully the negative result at Boston Utd was outweighed by the more positive three points at Kings Lynn Town last Saturday.

That superb result at The Walks, the home of the league leaders, has boosted the feeling around Aggborough with both the team and the fans having a more optimistic outlook on our capability to pull away from the relegation zone. The goals came from Alex Prosser and Ashley Chambers and, to be honest, we could have scored more if we had been a little more clinical in front of goal.

Defensively we were outstanding in keeping the undoubted threat of Michael Gash, Adam Marriott and Simon Power at bay. Keith Lowe marshalled his troops magnificently but all of the defence played their part.

Now we have to bring that discipline back to home ground tomorrow when we take on Darlington FC.

We’ll be without Declan Weeks (toe) for a further three weeks and now we also have Austin Samuels (groin) out for a few weeks. Hopefully there’ll be no more injuries between now and three o’clock tomorrow.

Darlo have a few injuries with Love Island star, and defender, Luke Trotman out with an achilles injury since the second game of the season. Love Island, I hear you say? no I don’t watch such rubbish I just saw it on their website. The other ones are Jamie Holmes out with a cruciate injury but back in training now, Michael Liddle (hamstring) and Gary Martin (calf) also have injuries.

They’re also going through a poor spell at the moment having lost a couple of games that they should have got something from. Last week they lost 3-0 at home to Guiseley in a result that was as equally surprising as ours was at Kings Lynn. That should give us even more confidence to win this game and, hopefully, go flying up the table and not before time.
