Jim Kellermann is back home in Kidderminster for a while

Like a bad penny this club never go away.

It seems that every time there’s a cup tournament involving the Harriers it’ll also involve AFC Fylde at some point and now we have another meeting. In our twelve games against them four have been a cup game and now we have a fifth to look forward to. This one is the FA Trophy 3rd round and, again, it’s not the first time we’ve played each other at this stage after we previously played them in 2022 and won 4-2 on penalties once extra time had been played.

We’ve also played them in league games and last season, in the National League, we lost at Mill Farm and drew at Aggborough. They stayed in the league and we got relegated but this season it could be their turn to get relegated with them struggling third from bottom and finding it hard to get a win.

If this game is on – the weather forecast isn’t too good – then we’ll probably play a strong side that could include our ‘new’ loan signing Jim Kellermann. He’s come back to us for an initial month long loan from Ebbsfleet Utd. His time with us previously was during the Covid hit season and part of the season before but he rarely made an appearance for us through injuries and bookings.

On the subject of injuries Ben Beresford could make a return for this game and also, hopefully, Maz Kouhyar. We haven’t been told much about what has happened to him but it appears that he went out on international duty injured, never played and then returned back here still with an injury. There’s also Reece Devine and Tope Obadeyi to return too but, again, we have no news regarding them.

We’ll also be without two players due to suspension with Kam Kandola and David Davis both on five yellow cards. On four yellows is Reiss McNally and he’ll be hoping he doesn’t pick up a fifth although the rules do change from five to ten cards sometime this month but I have no idea what that exact date is.

Here’s hoping we can come back from Fylde with the win that will see us progress further in the Trophy.
