Date: 06-09-21 Harriers off to Khalsa in the Kup |
It’s a new club and a new ground as the Harriers embark in this seasons FA Cup. On September 18th we’ll be off to Sporting Khalsa in the 2nd Qualifying round of the FA Cup and it could be interesting.
Khalsa play their games in the Pitching In Northern Premier at the Guardian Warehousing Arena in Willenhall. It’s correct name is Noose Lane but the Grundiad Wherehousing something or other sounds so much better.
Noose Lane was the former home of Willenhall Town who sold the ground to Khalsa and then following a period of dormancy the club re-formed and now play in Wolverhampton. The pitch also has a 3G surface.
Back to Khalsa: On Saturday they beat Gainsborough Trinity 2-1 to gain the right to play us and in the previous round to that they beat Yaxley at home and before that Market Drayton at home also. They seem to prefer playing at home in the cup.
In the league they sit in eleventh place on six points after five games. Their defence isn’t as good as the strikers with eleven goals for and fifteen against.
They might have the former Harriers striker Gaz Singh for them but their website is so out of date it’s hard to work out if he’s still there or if he left the club two years ago.
