04-11-19 - Preview - Kidderminster Harriers Vs Kings Lynn Town

Had a great game at York

The Harriers are quickly back into action tomorrow evening following our, almost, brilliant performance at York City on Saturday afternoon. We’ll be taking on another strong front runner in Kings Lynn Town in a game that was called off from two weeks ago due to a waterlogged Aggborough pitch.

At the time of the postponement Lynn were in fourth place in the table and that’s where they remain right now having not taken advantage in games since. On Saturday they gave away a last minute goal to draw at home to Altrincham and that gave them their fourth draw in the last six games. They’ve only had one win in that spell against Alfreton Town back at the start of September.

With our slight improvement in form it seems a good time to play them.

Our only injury worry is with Rhys Williams. Following his received broken nose at Darlington last Tuesday he didn’t play at York and may be given more time to allow healing. Milan Butterfield replaced him at York and, after an unsure first fifteen minutes he soon settled down and was instrumental in our pleasing performance and the gain of a valuable point.

Kings Lynn will be without Ryan Fryatt (knee) and Chris Smith (dislocated elbow) whilst striker Harry Limb could miss the game through illness. They did have Ryan Hawkins back with them following his loan spell at Dereham Town and he came on as a sub against Altrincham.

They have a familiar name to Harriers fans playing for them. Michael Gash has been there for a couple of seasons now and continues to bang in the goals just as he did with us during his time at Aggborough. He’s sure to get a good welcome from those fans that remember him fondly.

We last played them eleven years ago in a FA Cup qualifying game at The Walks. The 5-1 scoreline, in our favour, was impressive but it’s doubtful if that would be repeated again tomorrow. You never know though.

This is going to be another tough game for the Reds so we’ll need the fans behind us and with their backing, along with another good display from the team, we’ll hopefully be getting another three points on our comeback journey.
