Scored the goal that takes us through

The Harriers finally got through to the next round of the Worcester Senior Cup against Bewdley Town this evening with a solitary goal from Ethan Freemantle to bring this long running saga of postponements to an end.

Originally pencilled in for mid November last year the seemingly perpetually waterlogged pitch has seen the game called off five times and it looked at one time as if it would never get played at all. Tonight it did though and, as expected, a young Harriers side took to the pitch with just a handful: Freemantle and Tom Palmer a few games while David Neligwa, Dennis Digie and Reiss Taylor-Randle have made short substitute appearances at one time or another.

It took a while for the game to get going with Bewdley having a couple of attempts to score before we took that winning lead through Freemantle in the fortieth minute of the first half. The scorer stabbing the ball home through a crowd of players.

There was no addition to the scoreline in the second half but we did have more attempts in trying to score. Taylor-Randle tried to volley the ball home while Harvey Cartwright also had chances to score. The Town keeper doing well to save one of those.

The game finally ended with the Harriers going through to face Alvechurch at Aggborough. The date has yet to be arranged.
