03-08-21 - Friendly - The Harriers kids lose at Worcester City

A Harriers XI side travelled the short distance to Claines this evening to take on Worcester City at their new ground.

As at Stourport Swifts a few weeks there were no senior players chosen but there were a couple that have seen first team action in more recent friendlies. James Dutton, Luke Bastable and Kai Lissimore have all played at some stage while the goalkeeper Player L has also been seen mainly on the bench. He was given a number, 21, at Halesowen leading one to think that he may become a permanent fixture.

City’s first goal came in the thirty fourth minute when the former Halesowen Town striker, Dan Westwood, slotted home from close range. That’s how it stayed at the break with our chances falling for Keelan Horan and Joseph Anthony.

After the break Horan went close again as did Josh Parker. For City Chris Sterling saw his shot tipped around the post. He came close again soon after with a shot that went high over the bar.

In the eightieth minute Worcester increased their lead when Billy Shaw fired hard and low past the Harriers keeper. He came close to adding a third goal soon after when his header was tipped over the crossbar.

And that’s how the game ended.
