02-09-19 - Preview - Kidderminster Harriers Vs Brackley Town

Hoping to do well against a former club

The Harriers have a quick opportunity to get their first home win of the season after failing to do so on Saturday against Alfreton Town. A first half goal for them was enough to claim all three points and, to be honest, we never really looked like getting anything out of the game. We now have to try all over again at home to Brackley Town tomorrow evening.

Town come to us on the back of a 2-0 defeat in their first ever visit to Gateshead and will be wanting to get back onto the winning trail. So far this season their results have been a mirror image of ours with three home wins compared to none while away from home it’s us that have won three times while they’re yet to do so. They do have two draws compared to our one but that’s not much of an advantage.

In the second half of the Alfreton game we bought on our two new signings, Jamie Sharman and Ollie Shenton, and at least one of those could possibly make a start tomorrow with us having both Rhys Williams and Milan Butterfield away on international duty. Rhys and Milan will also miss the trip to Blyth Spartans this coming Saturday.

Alex Prosser will be coming up against the club he ended last season on loan with when he joined them just days before our defeat there last March. He came on as a late substitution but didn’t really catch the eye. Our former keeper, Danny Lewis, is still with them and our former centre half Kelvin Langmead is also there too having signed for them during the close season.

Games between the two clubs have always been hard fought affairs and this one will be no different. It’s hard to see another defeat at Aggborough for the Harriers but something has to change soon. We have to get it right one day and hopefully tomorrow will be that day.
