01-01-21 – Preview – Kidderminster Harriers Vs Hereford FC

Harriers fans hopes have been dashed once again in these local derbies with Hereford FC. It was hoped that, like their Hereford counterparts at Edgar St on Boxing Day, our fans would be coming to Aggborough to see the game but with the, expected, news that the Wyre Forest is now under COVID Tier 3 that faint hope has been abandoned. Seeing our team play had already been partly dashed after our game against AFC Telford Utd, earlier in the week, had fallen victim of the sudden overnight snow.

We can only hope now that tomorrow’s game will be on with more snow forecast and sub-zero temperatures to boot possibly making the pitch too risky to play on. It’s believed that the pitch has been cleared of the remaining snow but there has been no confirmation of that yet.

In the Edgar St game we lost disastrously after Amari Morgan-Smith got himself sent off and the ten men remaining could do very little about the 3-1 defeat. That result alone should fire us up for revenge and it will have to be done without AMS who now starts his four game ban.

Luckily we won’t be facing Lenell John-Lewis after he picked up a hamstring injury that has put him out for up to six weeks. He scored the second goal against us last week and the scorer of their first goal was the former Harrier James McQuilkin.

Just before the game Hereford signed the former Harriers academy graduate George Forsyth and he’s expected to be lining up against us.

Our only known injury worry is Jim Kellermann although there has been no news about Ethan Freemantle or Jaiden White who both missed that game. One of those two, if fit, could be leading the line for the next four games. Unless Russ Penn brings a new striker in very soon.

With our current form not looking too good compared the the Bulls current form – WLWLL vs WWWWD – then we’re going to have to raise our game a little. No, a lot!
