I like AM. I went to the Curry night and was sold on his ambition, confidence, attention to detail, the data and analytical approach and his honesty.

I was never 100% sold on Phil Brown. Through all the hundreds of hours of interviews he did, he never offered up one ounce of tactical insight, not one shred of detail that would suggest he is a football manager first and media personality second. I liked him, who couldn't, but was never convinced on his managerial ability. He took over a steady ship with a good crew and almost sailed it into the promised land, but didn't, he hit the harbour wall on approach. Ultimately Failed. He would of gone even if we would of won the league. His relationship with Lane and his own mate DH had broken down, he lost his license so was restricted on travel and by his own admission on Talk Sport shut the door on their faces if they ever approached his office. He had to go.

In my view, the majority couldn't see past the charm and character where as i did quite quickly. I get this is my personal view but its shared with the fan base of almost all other clubs that he's been to and many ex-professionals that have worked under him. If you listen to the 'Undr the Cosh Podcast' you'll know what i mean. He would come in, flatter and charm, get found out and move on. The trajectory of his career path also backs this up.

For these reasons, AM will never be good enough for a lot of our fans.

To all the PB fan boys, take a step back. We lost all our better players in the summer. We're 7th. In the play-offs. only lost the two. Had a ton of bad luck with decisions and injuries.

Yes the recruitment was poor and dipping into the south was a mistake, but with a few gone it should give us some flexibility to recruit better.

Come on guys, see it for what it is. Keep the faith and get behind the manager.

But we played very good football under PB and we're playing awful football under AM.

How will the data help us on that?

And I don't think PB got found out in any true sense. We missed out on automatic promotion by a whisker.

I thought PB should move on when he did and was happy with the AM appointment. The reason I'm no longer happy is because the atmosphere at the club is awful and the football is rubbish.

I agree. Phil Brown is one of those managers who likes the sound of his own voice and talks a good game but there's often not a lot of substance in what he has to say similar to Steve 'well you know ' Bruce.
I do think that AM places too much emphasis on stats and analytics.
I know that it's a different era but I think that legendary managers such as Bill Shankley and Brian Clough wouldn't have needed an app or computer program if they were alive and managing today. To paraphrase Brian Clough: 'Football is a simple game- keep the ball on the floor and pass it to a player wearing the same colour shirt '.

Paul Kalambayi comes in for a month.
League experience but, apparently, he's "only" 6ft 0 ins tall.
Above all, let's hope he has a voice and can organise those around him.
Perhaps today Murray can decide on our back three to face Chester. Then they can spend the rest of the week practising defending corners and set pieces.

Kalambayi, in theory, could be a very good signing. Wheels have fallen off at Dagenham since the summer, and he has plenty of Football League experience.
