Northern Premier League - West Division along with Sporting Khalsa, Chasetown etc and also the league leaders Lower Breck. Have to ask Soupy and Glynn about them :)

Good experience for Bishop better than being sat in the stands
if you couple goals with clean sheets you've a recipe for success

Innocent leaving confirmed
Two centre halves one on loan
Bird out for 8 weeks or so
Was told yday to “not be surprised if Tunni and Penny are moved on”
Apparently they aren’t in the squad today

Our defence hasn’t looked right from the off. Kai was ok, didn’t miss a minute on the pitch from his arrival but didn’t shine and looked a little bit lightweight to me. I’d rather have someone who wants to be here.

From Tony’s post above it looks like we have some problems at the back. Barratt looks decent pedigree on paper but we now need some long term solutions to build around Obi’s height and strength. I thought Tunni was going to be the guy that marshalled everyone, a natural leader - he’s hardly played.

This doesn’t look great at such an early stage of the season.

This is a bit of a shambles isn’t it?

Tunnicliffe has barely played and didn’t impress when he did play. Despite Murray’s hype (wand of a left foot?) Bird looks poor for this level. Obi is decent but would never have got near last season’s starting XI.

Now two academy kids arrive. We have had good young defenders from higher up before ( eg Rhys Williams) but it’s asking an awful lot of young lads to face the challenges of this league. Honestly (and this may in part be driven by watching those damn videos from 2001) I really don’t want to be negative but two months into the campaign and this looks to me like the weakest, most unbalanced squad in years.

I see Ange Postecoglu is being criticised for not knowing his best squad after 4 games. Adam Murray clearly doesn’t know his after a full pre-season and two months of competitive football. And we still haven’t addressed the issue of not creating enough chances and scoring enough goals.

Still we look great in training and we’d be second if it wasn’t for those two extra 30 seconds. Hurrah.

Underwhelming.

been told be a few more ins and outs in the next few weeks.
reeks of the move around penn did the season we went up when the likes of lowe and ceesay were binned off.
whether that works we shall see. murray needs to make changes with regards to him if anything is going to work imo

It begs the question that, if the recruitment process was poor enough in the summer to require several ins and outs, should we have any confidence in the choice of replacements?

Makes a mockery of “getting the signings done early so we are ready for the season”.
I suppose we can’t complain though as most of us seem to agree that we are weaker this season by a country mile.

Very hard to tell from a friendly - but the brief view at the Droitwich friendly he looked decent - pacy and positive.

The replacement for Alex, Reece Hall, didn't make an appearance for Hereford in his month with them. I don't have the figures for his three weeks at Rushall but they must have been bloody good for us to buy out his contract with them.

Connor Barratt, the replacement for Tunnicliffe, made one appearance for Solihull in his four months there. He's made thirteen appearances for Barnsley but that is over three seasons.

I'm not dissing these two lads but if Murray thinks they are the best replacements for Alex Penny and Jordan Tunnicliffe then he's on a different planet to you and me.

Hall was not bought, he was non-contract at Rushall so all it takes is a 7 day approach (the current club can waiver that too if they wish) and sometimes they will “dual-reg” at both clubs to speed up that process. Hall had been in on trial at Kiddy for nearly 2 weeks before the deal was signed
