That Chester rumour is laughable
Hemmos tweet seems to me that he’s staying. “We will come back stronger” alludes to him staying to have another crack at promotion

if you couple goals with clean sheets you've a recipe for success
That's how I read it, just hope we get someone in to steer the ship pronto so decisions can be made and offers put etc.tonythescout wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 1:27 pm That Chester rumour is laughable

To go against the grain, quite surprised that everyone wants to release AMS, i would keep him, obviously subject to salary.
He carried out PB`s tactic of "lump it to AMS" with a fair degree of determination, constantly being wrestled by monster centre backs.
Stayed fairly injury free considering the above plus being run into the ground, game after game 90 mins, quite often twice per week. Someone 10 years younger would have showed signs of fatigue & frustration with such & type of workload.
He has never been prolific, but is a good hold up type centre forward & still reasonably quick.
Keeping AMS will solve one problem, what type of striker to sign. We will need a more prolific skilled one for first choice, AMS to come on in last 20 mins to provide something different (even start in less important cup games
) It will also save us having to find two new strikers, we know we can depend on AMS, how many strikers have we used in recent years that have not come up to the mark.
I say keep him, good for team spirit/leader role even if he isn`t captain.

Difficult one. Would he even want to accept a bit-part role when he would be an attractive full-time option to many other clubs. I would say that his form diminished through the season and it was not really acceptable to play him for as many minutes as he did, taking into account the '110%' player he is. Maybe with a couple of months rest he might return refreshed?Medieval wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 7:36 pm To go against the grain, quite surprised that everyone wants to release AMS, i would keep him, obviously subject to salary.

Morgs and Hemmo signed up for another year.

Great news on Hemmings who had the season of his life. Worried he may be tempted by a move elsewhere
Serious reservations on AMS though unless he is going to be a squad player. Yes works hard a club legend but age is catching up with him. Hes no captain either IMO. Spends most of his time when not running around like a loon arguing with referees.

Hemmo will undoubtedly score plenty of goals with the right players around him.
I love Amari. But against monster centre halves he has struggled at times. 18 goals is not to be sniffed at but I have reservations too. He’ll be 37 by the end of next season. I can’t see him being an impact sub or squad player as I feel he needs runs of games to get going. Will be interesting to see how he’s used.

Agree Sheff. Didnt realise he was on pitch last two games, Open play goals from new year onwards very poor.
Stupid decision if he is to be used as main no 9.
We shall see.

I have always maintained that promotion hinged on reinforcing the strike force under PB, I still say that's why we didn't get over the line in the final game, AMS was a spent force in the last three/four weeks of the season - and no Beresford is not the answer. It will be vey interesting to see who AM does make captain - I would give it to KM as an incentive to sign. Amari maybe used as a impact sub IMO.

AMS staying on will be a big concern for the new kit manufacturer and whether their recycled material will stand up to being tugged at so much,,,,,, I can't ever remember a player who gets his shirt pulled as much as AMS.

AMS - not a spent force, but a valuable option in a 46 games league season.
Totally agree, maybe not 90 mins twice a week anymore but he’s just had one of his best ever seasons and will be a player well respected by others, both in and out of the squad.Wymondham harrier wrote: Tue May 20, 2025 5:46 pm AMS - not a spent force, but a valuable option in a 46 games league season.
IMO, the issue last season was not so much Morgs being a spent force, but that no one else in the squad (or anyone available for PB to bring in) could do the Job he does, so he ended up playing too much over the course of the season.

Sounds like the new manager is looking for something different to AMS to mix it up, makes total sense.
