Just watched Spennymoor get thrashed 5 - 0 at home to Fylde on YouTube. This was a complete surprise as the Moors had won the last 7 games.
Saturday's game will be a real toughie and a marker on where we are at the moment.

Could do with a bit of Devine intervention on Saturday, just to keep that AM taxi at bay!

I think all this sniping at AM at his faith is distasteful. If it was another religion people were sniping at there would be absolute uproar so I don't get why people think its acceptable to do it with Christianity. I dont want this to turn political either as it doesnt need to. Just my thoughts on the matter, as a Christian myself.
I get the argument that he mentions he prays etc which hasnt really done us much good (I dont pray at work, just get the job done as best I can) and we do need to hear other things from him but the micky taking I think is bad.

It's just a bit of fun, not to be taken personally. Don't be like that other religion who don't allow jokes.tonythescout wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 12:47 pm I think all this sniping at AM at his faith is distasteful. I quite like how open AM is about faith.
Unsurprising swipe above there from the usual suspect. Why is that not a surprise?
No offence intended mate. I'm a irregular churchgoer - half a dozen times a year - so not sneering at it at all, just a gentle joke. (Along the lines of 'Jesus Saves, and [insert 1990s goal scorer here] puts in the rebound').
I personally, like many CofE Anglicans, don't talk about religion often - and find evangelists jarring and a bit in-your-face (all too American for my liking). Each to their own though.

Perhaps I am being sensitive then. Do see references elsewhere on SM and messages re Murray which grate on me a bit. Just my opinion.
Onwards and upwards hopefully see you about on Saturday Harry

Lets hope Spennymoor are thinking ahead to the FA cup tie with Barrow.

I do agree, many players like hemmo and even ryley show their faith which is all good but when it comes to AM some seem to single him out.
But Hemmo and Ryley never came out and explicitly said "I scored because I pray a lot".Dan wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 8:58 pmtonythescout wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 12:47 pm I think all this sniping at AM at his faith is distasteful. Apparently this is the link for the commentary - but it seems to be dead at the moment. The main network feed on BBC Sounds has the Warriors (with a dodgy line, they switched to Trev/Chris Williams for the preview then cut it off again halfway through). Hoping it gets fixed before 3pm.
