Anthony Malbon Interview
The guys at Grassroots Gossip have had Anthony Malbon on the podcast where they discuss quite a lot about his time with us including his departure. Certainly hope the club has now changed on certain aspects he mentioned

Re: Anthony Malbon Interview
It was good to hear his hunger and passion come back. I was embarrassed listening to how we treated him at the end. Systematic of the general running of the club at the time

Sounded like Gary Whild didn't want him round the club.harriershane wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:51 pmIt was good to hear his hunger and passion come back. I was embarrassed listening to how we treated him at the end. Systematic of the general running of the club at the time

Half the people ever to feature on that show have played for Harriers!
Colin Gordon supporters seem very keen on his mates who’ve bought the club from him, don’t they?

Re: Anthony Malbon Interview
Unfortunately Malb's story is not a unique one.
Reading and listening to former professional's stories over the years its obvious to me the sport is a particularly unforgiving and often brutal one once a club decides youve outlived your usefulness.
No wonder many have ( and still) suffer mental health issues.
I don't think Harriers are any different to any other club, though many of the Allner era players still watch matches and keep in touch.
Maybe Graham Allner's longevity as Manager/coach meant relationships built were that more robust....??

Wasted talent.
Had he had someone to guide him there’s no doubt he would have played league football.
Maybe League 1 or championship

Jon Purdie just mentioned Graham Allier was the best manager he worked with on facebookgarthrockett wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 10:37 amUnfortunately Malb's story is not a unique one.

I watch him every few weeks but I still can’t believe he’s only 28.

Brought in by Ernie Lane's money I believe along with Marvin Johnson and one other to try and secure promotion.jim mankey wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:38 pmNor SerrellPIRATE OF ZARAGOZA wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:44 pmSounded like Gary Whild didn't want him round the club.harriershane wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:51 pmIt was good to hear his hunger and passion come back. Definitely and he admits it too, all he wanted was to play football with his mates.centreforeword wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 10:38 amWasted talent.

If you want to be a top player you need to be driven and he just wasn't, how many people would make up excuses to pull out of England squads away to Russia and Bermuda to go out on the beer in Magaluf and Benidorm with his mates, such a shame.

His second excuse was a classic, "retiring from international football".
