Ed Williams on his way again

Post by Phil » Mon Jul 15, 2019 4:44 pm

Supposedly being scouted by Swansea, Blues and Peterborough.

Undisclosed fee no doubt.

He's been continuously scouted, nothing new there. Certainly at our level any young player with obvious qualities will be closely monitored. Hopefully we can hold on to him untill a very tempting fee appears. Then who knows what will happen! I'm still reasonably optimistic.

Reported through the Birmingham Mail. The worst paper for Football Reporting. Just ask the Blues fans. The blues supporters are consistently commenting on the Mails website about the constant dribble, bilge, garbage and general S**t written about. Obviously the Mail had nothing better to report on and came up with this story while sitting on the toilet. The Mirror reported it as well but it originated from the trash mail.
Although Ed is a quality player, can anyone honestly believe that he could go from National North to Championship and be a saviour to their problems

Lets get real people!!!!!

Forget all the bilge about not standing in a player's way it is only about money and have no doubt about it CG needs to plug a £500K per season loss which has been par for the course over the last three seasons. Don't think he can rely on EBC to fund the regular shortfalls so for potential large sums he needs the improvement in the education side alluded to by aberred + player sales.

Will be an interesting season ahead that's for sure but maybe not for all the right reasons.

Agreed. We have to be realistic I am afraid. Selling star name is the only way we can invest in new players really. Money is certainly tight. Like with most clubs in this league tbf. Apart from Hereford who are taking a massive gamble (again).

Current rumours have a different company putting money into Harriers.

It wasn’t so long ago our fans believed an article that he might be going back to Gloucester, as the saying goes, don’t believe everything you read in the paper!

I can understand the B'ham Mail, and other gutter press, printing stuff about Premiership and Championship players being supposedly lined up for big moves to AC Milan and Barcelona but why would they be interested in making up stuff about a two bit 'Sunday' footballer going to Swansea?

It isn't going to sell their paper on the scale that Birmingham City supposedly signing Mo Salah from Liverpool or Messi from Barcelona would.

So by printing that you have to assume there's an element of truth in it.

I believe there might well be an element of truth in it. Whether it happens or not is a different matter.

And as others have said if the right fee comes along we have to accept it we need the money.
