I didn't see it but was told that he conned the ref for a free kick that led to the penalty.

Dean Keates bemoaning the fact that Wrexham are under different rules being a Welsh club and cant bring a loan striker in, which raised an ironic smile with me remembering the indecent haste with which Dave Artell's suspension was overturned by the Welsh FA for him to play in our 2013 play off first leg.....

:D

It's funny how these things still rankle.

I can remember going through Luton Town's entire squad (including reserves) in an attempt to understand why some injury and illness crisis rendered them unable to get 11 players together to give us a game. I think I may have even sent an email to the FL!

Just reminding myself of the story....see below....didn't remember they were fined, but no points deducted!

There was also the mid 1980s Altricham game at home where their on-pitch sledging led to Mark Rosegreen being verbally abused by their bench as he warmed up (coaches John King and Graham Heathcote professed all innocence)
Then McKenna (the main culprit) scored - they frustratingly won 1-0, someone got headbutted in the tunnel, their board of directors threatened to 'take it all onto the carpark', and the Alty team collectively trashed the dressing room on their way out. Not a tea cup left intact.
Charmers the whole bunch......
I seem to recall we complained to the league -and they did nothing.......

And Artell's suspension was for a clear red card - basically a karate kick to the head. Then he scored for them in the first leg too.
