Marvin Johnson was another level. It's bizarre how ineffective Williams has become.

Marvin has his detractors amongst the fans and we sent him out on loan to Hednesford. It was only when others subsequently put their arm around him that they got the best out of him.

This is a well trodden discussion Zorro. For me the problem was never MJ, it was that Steve Burr didn't like him and would do anything not to play him.

When MJ went to Hednesford I went nuts on here. When he came back and was actually played we saw was he was capable of - some of those goals, holy moly.

It was Johnson's attitude. If you remember rightly, that summer after Hednesford he held out on signing a new contract thinking a load of league clubs would come in for him. Didn't happen. So he re-signed and his attitude improved. The rest is history.
The best team we ever had- since i've been watching the Harriers (2002-)
-------------------Brock-----------
-------Hinton---Smith-----Stamps
-----Melligan--Bennett-Williams---Flynn-Parrish
-----------Henriksen-Broughton------

Maybe he didn't sign a contract with us because we'd sent him out on loan to Hednesford? I mean, who would after that, if they could avoid it? Particularly when he'd been historically sidelined.

Round in circles on this one as always though, so I won't post again about it.

One of my top three favourite ever Harriers players.
