According to Wikipedia, Oxford City will be in our league next season, but trying to find a news article confirming this is like trying to find a Beano comic from the 1940’s

This bloke has a good record of getting the leagues right, follow the links across the top of the page, step1 step2 etc. Swifts have both Northwich clubs in their league alongside 3 clubs with a Stockport postcode.

I wouldn't fancy being in Buxton's ground with 5200 keeping me company.

Same with 8200 at Kings Lynn. That would mean our play off SF there was only 1/3rd full. How on earth can that place supposedly hold 2000 more than Aggborough?

If Rushall away is over Christmas I think that could be interesting with a 2,000 capacity.

Just been talking with an ecstatic Enfield fan (won their play off with Chatham 3-0) who seems to think they may get bunged into NLN because of the glut of southern sides to accommodate.
Surely not?

Is the aggboro stat right? There was more for the Stockport game over a decade ago wasnt there? Wasn’t the official gate 6400’or something? Not sure why it’s reduced?
It’s our league to loose next season IMO. Massive summer ahead in recruiting right and keeping / releasing the right players.

I think Scunthorpe will have something to say about that. I think promotion will be just as hard as it was two seasons ago, if not even harder. Still plenty of underachieving ex-Football League clubs there. Brackley will also come back stronger after yet another play-off failure.

They;ve (Scunny) just sacked their management team and it has been said on here they have financial issues.
Is a hard league but its not as if there is a Fylde of 7/8 years ago for example.

The clubs that have benefitted from continued financial injections from owners include Scarboro, Kings Lynn, South Shields and Spennymoor. All these clubs now appear to have stalled in their momentum up the pyramid.
Macclesfield's loss in the play offs give all NLN clubs a years reprieve before they invariably come barging into the division.
I agree that we should be comfortably play off material, if not pushing for the top.
No doubt fans of such failed illuminati as Chester, Scunny, Darlington, Southport or Hereford will be saying the same thing.

Madness IMO if the management team don't have a playoff requirement clause in their contracts, otherwise 2 year contracts are a massive massive gamble. I suspect not though...

Yes, that Fylde team that pipped up to the title seven years ago was exceptional. But the two clubs promoted the season before were Solihull Moors and North Ferriby. Solihull are a formidable force now, but they were outsiders at the time. It wasn’t until their third season in the National League they started to become the team they are now. We would have said the same thing then. You simply can’t predict who will come good, and how good they’ll be 12 months from now.

Talk of "its our league to lose" seem madness at this point.

Agree, we have only a handful of players under contract (and question marks about a couple of them even being retained), no news of any ins and outs and at best, idle speculation about potential playing budget. Despite that, the league is surely as good as in the bag :rolllaugh:
