Re: New players / trialists / rumours
Genuine pace out wide. Definitely like that. One of Harriers downfalls for me towards the end of the season.
Austin didn't really run in behind within the system, so only really Ethan a threat in that regard, who didn't play much. Lack of ability to stretch teams effectively and create room to play in. Everything effective in front of teams, which the opposition worked out.
As Phil says, be interesting to see what this means for Mars. I can't imagine Cessay was on too much at Alfreton. But as I've written before, wouldn't surprise me if Sterling is entertaining higher offers.

Wasn't at the Alfreton full game and don't think he made a huge impact in the game that was abandoned after 15 mins.
I would be surprised if OSJ is entertaining offers from a higher level. Going off the boil late on in the season is exactly why bigger clubs might not touch him.
The best team we ever had- since i've been watching the Harriers (2002-)

Alfreton fans seem v.disappointed to lose him, which can only be good news for us.

Re: New players / trialists / rumours
Difficult to judge from highlights seemingly compiled from a limited number of matches but my initial reaction was that he doesn't have the finesse of OSJ or Hemmings. That said, his willingness to take people on, be direct and fight for the ball are positives. It suggests that Russ and JOC are looking to add a bit more physicality to the team whilst maintaining mobility.
As Garth said, it looks like there's some room for improvement in his finishing - what struck me was how often in the highlights he cut in onto his weaker foot to shoot (pleased to see him willing to use both feet but seemed a little odd all the same.)

To me he looks more like an effective impact sub on the 70 minute mark than shoe-in to the starting XI.
Think a Sterling or Hemmings replacement for 20 minutes away from home 1-0 down scenario.

I think I'm more impressed than some other posters on here. If he was finishing every chance he created then we wouldn't have a hope of signing him at this level and the number of players he leaves sitting on the grass in that compilation is quite something. Plus more physicality is what everyone has been crying out for us to get out of the league.
I think this looks a very promising signing.

Didn't realise he was only 18. Lots of potential there

Agree. So pleased to see Jack has signed up. I think this kid has a future.
