Fingers crossed for him. Regardless of your opinions on the job he did at Aggborough, his career has been on an upward trajectory ever since and he's very well thought of at Championship level (if more as a No 2 or backroom staff than a front line manager).

The departure of Steve Cooper from Swansea seems a strange one after two top six finishes. I suspect he'll end up somewhere else shortly.

I'd not be happy if I was a Swansea fan. I'm not really sure how being an assistant manager at the same level qualifies you for managing a Championship team and there must have been some heavyweight possibilities out there given Swansea's achievements over the last couple of seasons.

Costs - the pandemic is making all clubs look at income / expenditure. Swansea will be lower tier in the division this year
