Marcus Bignot was a defender who served his apprenticeship with Birmingham City but was released and joined Telford Utd before coming to the Harriers for a small fee.

In August 1997 he signed for Crewe Alexandra for £100,000 and became the number one choice at right back (and the supporters’ player of the season 97/98).

After falling into dispute with the club over his contract he joined Bristol Rovers on a free transfer in August 2000. But with a change of management came a move to QPR in March 2001 to rejoin his old manager, Ian Holloway.

He left them in the summer of 2002 after another money dispute and ended up at our old sparring partners Rushden & Diamonds where he played for them until they hit money troubles in 2004. Just before they were relegated back to the 3rd Division he was released and re-joined his old club, QPR.

In 2007 he moved to the other side of London and joined Millwall for three years before he finally came back to Aggborough to see out the end of his career and eventually go into management with Solihull Moors, Grimsby Town and Chester FC.
