Iyseden Christie

Iyseden Christie (pronounced eyes-eden) signed for the Harriers on the eve of our first game of the 2004-05 season against Rushden although he didn’t play in that game due to an injury he had at his previous club Mansfield Town.

He started his career at Coventry City but after only two substitute appearances he was released to scuttle around the lower divisions, mainly at Leyton Orient and Mansfield.

Jan Molby bought him in to score goals but injuries wrecked his season with us and it wasn’t until near the end that he started to make some appearances. Following our relegation back to the Conference Christie managed to get his fitness levels back during the close season and started to produce the goods for us.

By the time he left to join Rochdale in January 2006 he had banged in 13 goals for us. His time at Spotland was not a successful one though and he only scored twice in twenty games and returned to Aggborough at the end of August 2006 eventually re-joining us on a free transfer in January 2007.

At the end of the 2007-08 season he decided not to sign a new contract and left to join Stevenage but fell out of favour there almost straight away and was sent out on loan to Kettering and then joined Torquay Utd permanently in February 2009.

He was released from the Gulls on their promotion back into the Football League and surfaced on trial for a Maltese club during the summer. That was obviously meant more as a holiday job than really looking for a new club nearer to home in Coventry and at the end of August 2009 he signed terms with Kings Lynn but lasted just one game before being released due to a lack of fitness.
