Danny Williams, who was born in Wrexham, started his footballing education at his local club as a youngster but was persuaded to try his luck at Liverpool. He never made the grade at Anfield though and returned to Wrexham in March 1999. He then spent time at Conference side Doncaster but was released on his return at the end of the season. He signed for the Harriers in July 2001 but after failing to settle in the Wyre Forest area he spent a month on loan at Chester City before finally signing for Bristol Rovers on transfer deadline day 2004.
