Colin Larkin joined the Harriers on loan from local side Wolverhampton Wanderers in September 2001 initially for one month. This was then extended until the end of the season. He finished the season with us having scored seven goals but missing probably twice as many due to his inability to finish in one on ones with the keeper. Colin was born in Dundalk (Eire) on 27th April 1982 and joined the Wolves as a YTS trainee. He represented his country at all youth levels but never got the call to join Eire’s senior international team. In July 2002 he signed for Mansfield Town for a figure of £125,000 but after three years with them he joined local rivals Chesterfield Town and then following them he went to Northampton Town. Larkin has since played for Lincoln City, Harrogate Town and Gateshead. He is now a coach with Sunderland RCA. | |||
