Match preview Vs Boston UtdDate: 30-03-18Venue: York StreetKick off: 15:00hrs |
The Harriers will be facing up to Boston Utd for the fourth time this season when they travel across to the Lincolnshire coast for this Good Friday game. Obviously with many fans in Kidderminster working tomorrow there’ll be a few less travelling than usual. We’ll still take a good following as always though.
On Tuesday evening we gave the best possible riposte to the Salford City result by beating Alfreton Town 2-0. The goals came from Joe Ironside and Dan Bradley, both former Alfie’s, and they’ll be hoping to get on the scoresheet again tomorrow too.
We should be able to name the same starting eleven again because it’s doubtful if James O’Connor, Liam Truslove or Elton N’Gwatala will be back from injury. Elton looks to be the closest but with the team playing well upfront it’s difficult to see who would make way for him. Usually it’s Manny Sonupè allowing Bradley to go out wide but with Bradley relishing the number 10 rolé it would be madness to drop either of them. The answer could be to drop the off form James McQuilkin and move Bradley across there.
Boston have been on a poor run as of late. When their new manager Craig Elliott first arrived they started to put some results together with a great run during December and January with seven straight wins. Since February they have faced a lot of postponements and their form has dipped accordingly with only one win in seven.
They have a few injuries with goalkeeper George Willis and defender Taron Hare both beginning their comeback from injury while Jay Rollins and Gregg Smith, both strikers, will face fitness tests before the game.
On Tuesday, while we were winning at Alfreton, Boston were at one of the teams that we were hoping to make ground on over Easter by beating Brackley Town at Aggborough on Monday. Boston went down 4-1 after dominating most of the game but switched off in the seventieth minute to allow Brackley to score three times in eight minute to go 3-0 up. That sounds like someone we know so we’re going to make sure that it’s us doing a Salford/Brackley tomorrow.
