27-11-17 - Preview - Harriers Vs Boston Utd

The Harriers and Boston Utd meet again at Aggborough tomorrow evening to decide who will be meeting York City in the next round of the FA Trophy.

On Saturday at Bostons York Street stadium the home side came from two goals down to force the Reds to a 2-2 draw. With the Harriers dominating the game for the first seventy five minutes, and two goals to the good through Andre Brown and Joe Ironside, we let them back into the game through a mix of sitting back and a sprinkling of defensive errors that saw them score twice in the space of two minutes.

This is happening far too often to be a fluke and must be down to instructions not being instilled into the team. This run of wins being clutched from us has now happened five times this season and if we hope to get out of this league, and progress further in the Trophy, then it needs to be nipped in the bud starting tomorrow.

We’ll have Tyrone Williams back for us after suspension but he might have to be happy with a place on the bench and there are plenty of those after we could only fit four on the other day. Joel Taylor has now recovered from his groin injury but missed out at Boston due to an illness that also affected Liam Truslove. Hopefully both will be available to us tomorrow.

Just prior to the first game Boston strengthened their side with a couple of defensive loan signings. Kyron Stabana from Derby County and Hull City centre-half Adam Curry have linked up with the Pilgrims until Boxing Day and possibly longer. It was Curry that opened their scoring and set them back on the way into the game.

They have just the one injury worry with Liam Wakefield after he missed out through injury the other day.

If we hope to meet City next, and knock the current cup holders out, then we have to start to become more ruthless in attack and in defence. Hopefully the team will have learnt from the mistakes at Boston and act on it.
