20-11-17 - Preview - Harriers Vs North Ferriby Utd

Following that great draw at York City over the weekend we now turn our thoughts to the game tomorrow evening against the bottom of the table club North Ferriby Utd.

On Saturday we took on City expecting a hard game and a possible defeat but by the time ninety minutes was up the Harriers fans were wondering how we never managed to claim all three points. So dominant were we that if our shooting had been a little sharper we could have been looking at four goals or more going our way. As it was Ryan Croasdale got our goal and it took a masterful free kick from Jon Parkin to give the home side a share of the spoils. Apart from that they failed miserably in testing Brandon Hall and didn’t get a single shot on target.

We now take on Ferriby and hopefully this time we will be putting four goals or more past them.

They got relegated from the National Premier last season after just one term in non leagues top flight. They were equally as poor ten as they are now and so far this season have only won one game, away at Blyth Spartans back in August. Four drawn games, against Darlington, Tamworth and FC Utd (at home) and an away draw at Southport has given them a grand total of seven points. Unless they improve soon they’ll be dropping straight through.

On Saturday a 4-0 defeat at leaders Salford City set them up nicely for tomorrow at Aggborough.

We’ll be without Tyrone Williams once again with him serving part two of his suspension while Joel Taylor could still be missing with a groin injury. Lee Vaughan is still someway from a return while Dan Bradley will be out for a little longer with his knee injury.

We bought in Yan Klukowski on a short term loan before the York game and he came on for the last fifteen minutes and he acquitted himself well without setting the world on fire. He’ll need a bit more game time before we can tell if he’s what we are looking for. If anyone does know what we’re looking for please tell.

North Ferriby have two former Reds with them. Simon Russell has been there a couple of seasons now and still playing while Darryn Stamp is the assistant manager to Steve Housham. They’ll be without Daniel Emerton with a long term injury while Darnelle-Bailey-King is unavailable. They’ll also be without striker Curtis Bateson too after he left them yesterday for Gainsborough Trinity even though they’re short of strikers that can score goals.

With the Harriers now being un-beaten in the League since mid September and Ferriby on such a poor run of form it should be an open and shut case for a decent win for us tomorrow night. Let’s hope that it is, in fact, an emphatic win and the floodgates open. If they don’t or we lose it just doesn’t bear thinking about.
