Fingers were crossed here at Online Towers here today in the hope that the Harriers wouldn’t be drawn away at another far flung team in todays FA Cup draw.
Listening in on Talksport we heard South Shields name come out and prayed it wasn’t us travelling all the way to Newcastle again. Then out came another far Northern side Shaw Lane Aquaforce at home but thankfully they got Barrow. Then came Chorley FC. Oh no, not them again, don’t be so cruel to us please.
Thankfully we avoided them all but the end of the bag was getting close so when was our name going to be read out?
Number 15 – That’s us, that’s us. Quiet everyone – Kidderminster Harriers. Will Play. Number 3. Chester FC. Get in there!
We couldn’t really have asked for better. A team struggling in the league with a new manager, and a Harriers legend at that, and bound to bring a large following with them.
The legend Marcus Bignot was appointed as the new man in charge there just a few weeks ago and has yet stamp his mark on his new side. Since his arrival at the Deva they have played one game, winning 2-0 at home to Maidenhead Utd only to have their next game at Eastleigh last Saturday called off due to a waterlogged pitch. The game will be played at Aggborough on, or around, October 14th.
